  St. James Lutheran Church is proud to announce our new Intern.  She will be sharing responsibilities between St. James and Immanuel Lutheran Church .  Vicar Vicky Blough began serving our congregations on Aug. 17, 2003.

        Vicky was born in Three Rivers, Michigan and raised in Middlebury, Indiana--about 3 miles from the Michigan-Indiana state line.  She is 54 and entering the ministry as a second career.
          Vicky worked for the Elkhart YMCA in Indiana for 26 years.  Three years were spent as a coordinator for the "Swimming program for the handicapped" and 23 years as Aquatic Director.  She was also a volunteer with the American Red Cross for 25 years and served as a water safety Instructor Trainer.
            Vicky has a B.A.in Physical Education from Carthage College; Kenosha, Wi. and a M.A. in Physical Education from Western Michigan University at Kalamazoo.  She completed several courses at the Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, In. and has completed two years of study at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago, Il.  She plans on completing her Master of Divinity by May 2005.  Vicky has been a member of the LSTC Gospel Choir and participated in a 3 week choir trip to South Africa. 
            Vicky is single.  She has two dogs: Trey, a yellow lab/springer spaniel mix and Buddy, a reddish brown color of unknown breed. 
              Vicky's mother, Agnes is 78 and still works part-time as a grocery cashier. Brother Jeff is Chief of Police in Constantine, Mi.  Sister-in-law Joetta is financial director of a trailer manufacturer.  Nephew Joshua is a Junior at Goshen College, Goshen, In.  Nephew Jonahs is a junior and niece Josie, a sophomore, both at Shipshewana High School.
