| Intern 2005-2006 Vicar Jessica Lambert |
| St. James Lutheran Church We are proud to announce our new Intern Jessica Lambert. She will be sharing responsibilities between St. James and Immanuel Lutheran Church . Vicar Jessica began serving our congregations in late August. Jessica was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She grew up mostly in beautiful Maine. She returned to Wisconsin for college, graduating from Beloit College in 1993 with majors in Russian and Theatter. She lived in New York City for nearly eight years after that, during which time she attended both the Circle in the Square Theater School and the Institute for Culinary Education (several years after acting school). She acted in plays with friends, baked desserts at a restaurant called Babbo and got to know an extraordinary and overwhelming city quite well. In 2000 she moved to Boston and unexpectedly began to discern her call to the ministry. Although her mother had told her not too long before,as she expressed her longing to find her life's work that she thought Jessica should be a pastor and always had. No was was more suprised than Jessica to be starting Yale Divinity School in the fall of 2002. God indeed works in mysterious and remarkable ways. Jessica would like to be able to say that she is done going to school now, but alas, she will have one more year, following this internship, at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. Only God knows why her path has been as winding as it has been, but she is grateful to be here right now, and for all the experiences and teachers that have graced her life and led her here. Jessica has one sister, Susan, who is married and has two amazing little boys, Jake and Ethan. Come to her office for a visit and to see the adorable photos. They live in Virginia, only an hour away from Baltimore where her mother,Cindy, lives with her husband, Andy. My father, Bill, lives with his wife Jeanne in Wilton, Maine and practices orthopedics. Between the two marraiges she is blessed with 2 stepsisters and 2 stepbrothers. Jessica hopes to share all of these wonderful people with you and you with them as they make their way out to visit her in Jackson this year. Besides cooking and doing plays, she also loves to cross country ski, hike, kayak, go camping, see movies, read, scour used bookstores for gems, and spend time with family and friends. |
