St. James Lutheran Church is proud to announce our new Intern.  He will be sharing responsibilities between St. James and Immanuel Lutheran Church .  Vicar Scott began serving our congregations on Aug. 26, 2002.

Scott was born and raised in Northwest Indiana in the City of Hammond, which is approximately 30 miles southeast of Chicago.  He is 44 years old and entering the ministry as a second career.  He has worked as a Foreman Electrician for the past 25 years as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 697, the last 22 years at Hyre Electric Co. of Highland, In.  While working as an electrician he attended Purdue University Calumet where he received a B.A. in Clinical Psychology.  For the past four years he has been working towards a Masters of Divinity at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.

Scott married his high school sweetheart Sherry in August of 1977.  Sherry is a graduate of Purdue University Calumet and is a Registered Nurse.  They have 4 children.  Stacy is 23 and is the mother of their two grandchildren, Jessica, age 6, and Daniel who was born this year.  Scott is 21 and lives in Ft. Wayne, In., where he is employed as an automotive technician for BMW.  Stephen is 19 and is a student at the American Institute of Business in Des Monies, Ia.  Suzanne is 16 and is in 10th Grade.  The also have a 9 year old Puppy named Boomer.
